These facilities are intended to support academic learning while also promoting students' scientific curiosity, creativity, mental well-being and overall development.

Mayor Ritu Tawde Highlights Educational Opportunities

Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde said the development of modern school complexes would help create a positive and energetic environment for students.

She also highlighted efforts to provide BMC school students with opportunities to visit reputed institutions, including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). According to the Mayor, initiatives such as 'Science Monday' and 'Math Thursday' are being promoted to encourage greater interest in science and mathematics.

Tawde also noted the achievements of BMC school students and said several municipal school students have earned recognition through their accomplishments. She pointed out that both she and Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Education) Dr Prachi Jambhekar are alumni of BMC schools.

The Mayor further said that 27 essential school-use items are being provided free of cost to students studying in BMC schools.

MLA Parag Shah Announces Rs 5 Lakh Contribution

At the inauguration ceremony, local MLA Parag Shah announced a personal contribution of Rs 5 lakh towards various requirements and utilities of the new school complex.

Shah praised the design and construction of the building and emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene on the premises. He also stressed the need to ensure student safety while continuing to improve the quality of education.

Schools Shifted After Earlier Building Became Dilapidated

Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Education) Dr Prachi Jambhekar provided details about the redevelopment project, stating that the earlier school building at the location had become dilapidated.

Following completion of the new structure, schools operating from different locations were shifted to the new premises in phases after the start of the new academic year.

The complex comes under the N Ward of the BMC and is located in Ward 132.

Focus on Inclusive and Quality Municipal Education

The new Tilak Marg Municipal School Complex is part of the civic body's efforts to strengthen infrastructure in municipal schools and provide students with access to modern educational resources.

By bringing multiple schools and specialised learning facilities together in a single building, the BMC aims to create a safer, more inclusive and technology-focused learning environment for children from different parts of the eastern suburbs.

The civic administration expects the facility to contribute to improving educational standards and set a new benchmark for municipal school infrastructure in Mumbai.
