In the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections i.e. on May 20, voting will be held in a total of 13 constituencies in Maharashtra including Mumbai. Against this backdrop, Mumbai University has taken an important decision to postpone the examination.
Mumbai University has postponed some examinations to be held in the summer session under the academic year 2023-24. All the exams on 6th, 7th and 13th May have been postponed. The information in this regard has been given by the university itself.
No examinations were to be conducted on the polling day i.e. May 20. However, the dates have been changed due to the election related planning and the districts of the constituencies which are going to vote on May 20 individually under the university.

The University of Mumbai has announced the revised dates of the examinations through a circular. According to this circular, all the exams scheduled on May 6 will now be held on May 18. All the exams to be held on May 7 will be held on May 25. Also, the university has said that the exams which were to be held on May 13 will now be held directly on June 8.
According to the university, only the dates of the exams have been changed. However, the Board of Examinations and Evaluation of Mumbai University has said that the students should note that there has been no change in the time and centre of the examination. In the fifth phase, polling is taking place in constituencies covering Mumbai and suburbs.
The voting for Maval Lok Sabha Constituency is being held on May 13. Voting will be held on May 20 in total 6 constituencies in Palghar, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Thane, Mumbai. The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on June 4. The University has clarified that this changed schedule will be applicable for the examinations of all Arts, Commerce, Science and Technology, Law Colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai, as well as various courses in the University.
