Changes in Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Election Schedule

The State Election Commission had announced the schedule for the District Council (Zilla Parishad) and Panchayat Samiti elections on January 13, 2026.

Following the demise of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on January 28, 2026, the state government declared a three-day period of mourning (January 28–30, 2026). Consequently, the election schedule was revised:

  • Voting: February 7, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

  • Counting of votes: February 9, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM

These elections cover 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis, and the schedule was adjusted to accommodate the mourning period while ensuring smooth conduct of elections.
