Mumbai University postpones exams scheduled for Winter 2025 due to elections

Owing to the elections of municipal councils and nagar panchayats, the University of Mumbai has announced that all the examinations scheduled in Winter 2025 have been postponed.

In a circular issued on Wednesday, November 26, the Mumbai University (MU) informed all its affiliated colleges that the exams, earlier planned between December 1 and 4, will now be conducted from December 16 to 19.

While the dates have been revised, the timing of the exams will remain unchanged.

The university has directed all departments, sub-centres, and affiliated college principals to notify students and staff at the earliest.

It is pertinent to note that last month a fake circular, bearing the university’s name and logo, went viral online, falsely claiming that the exams had been delayed due to “technical difficulties.”

Later, the university made an official post on X (formerly Twitter), clarifying that the viral document as “fabricated and misleading,” urging students to rely only on its official website (mu.ac.in) and verified social media handles for updates.
