Mumbai University ensures students don’t miss exams while participating in extra-curricular activities

In a relief to the students, Mumbai University recently introduced a provision as per which, the students can now participate in extra-curricular sports, cultural activities, competitions without missing out their examinations. Thus, the students won’t have to worry about appearing for a re-examination if the activities clash with their semester exams.

The provision will assist the students in activities at the inter-collegiate, university, state, national or international level and provide them the benefit to appear for exams later if the events clash with their semester exams. Alongside, students participating in sports, cultural, youth festivals or National Cadet Corps (NCC) will receive similar benefits.

Accordingly, the colleges will have to conduct examinations separately for these students within 30 days of the regular semester exams. While the move has been welcomed by the students, it certainly will irk the teachers since they would have to prepare a separate question paper for the students participating in the events.
