Parents of primary medium students enrolled in Shardashram Vidya Mandir are not happy with the idea of changing the name to SVM International school but they are more upset over the decision of switching from SSC board to ICSE without their consent.

It is also said that students of class IV are being forced to take admission in ICSE board, who have already got the admission in SSC board.

Under the guidance of education committee member Sachin Padwal and Sainath Durge, 125 parents met an administration officer Subhash Jadhav. They informed Jadhav that members who are associated with Parent Teacher Association (PTA) were asked for christening the name.

Padwal said that in order to change the board to ICSE, the school has to comply nearly 15 terms and conditions and if a school fails then the school will lose its registration.

Padwal said that the committee will see to it that no student is forced to take admission in ICSE board. Meanwhile, Jadhav said that the administration will take a decision in next two days.

If the admin department has thought of changing the name, then we can give our approval. But if they planning to switch the board, then we will have to think. On top of it all, if parents — who have already enrolled their children in SSC board — are forced to enroll their children in ICSE board, then we will not approve the proposal,” Mangesh Satamkar, education committee president, BMC.
