Maharashtra: District, Departmental tournament winner will get additional five marks in SSC, HSC board

Maharashtra Education Department issued a notification stating that students who win medals in the district and departmental games will be granted additional five marks in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) board. 

Earlier, the government had announced additional marks for the students who won in the state, national, and international tournaments. However, the government has decided to grant extra five marks for the district and departmental winners. 

The tournaments listed by Maharashtra government which are eligible for granting additions marks in board exams include Nehru Hockey Cup, Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament and competitions organised by Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) for the differently-abled.

In the notification, the Maharashtra government stated that the winners in any of the tournaments will have to submit their certificate to avail extra marks for the boards.
