Actress Priyanka Chopra is currently in the limelight for her 'Citadel' web series. On this occasion, she appeared on Dax Shepherd's podcast show 'Armchair Expert'. In this show, she made many revelations about her personal life. She also commented on everything from leaving Bollywood to marrying Nick Jonas and freezing eggs.
During an interview, Priyanka Chopra also revealed the reason behind her leaving Bollywood and deciding to concentrate on her career in Hollywood. The actress said that she was “being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood).” She added, “I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”
She also made revelations about how “colourism was normalised” in the industry.
Sharing her experience, Priyanka Chopra said: “I remember when I joined movies, I was considered dusky, written as the dusky actress and I was like ‘What is dusky? What does it mean?'. Yet, I did a commercial because you are doing a beauty brand. A beauty brand is a really big part of an actress' trajectory. And all the beauty brands were selling those creams,” referring to fairness creams.
She also spoke that freezing her eggs in her 30s helped her focus on her career.
Priyanka Chopra continued, “My mother explained to me that having children after the age of 35 is difficult. Especially those women who face more difficulties, who have to work continuously every day. But the miracle of science is that anything is possible. So I tell people that on a festival don't buy cars, don't buy expensive gifts and do this. By freezing your eggs, you can work as you please and have children whenever you want.”
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is married to American pop singer Nick Jonas. Currently she lives in America. Priyanka and Nick became parents through surrogacy in 2022. His daughter's name is Mari Malti.
