Red alert in Mumbai as heavy rain forecast on July 14 and 15

For four consecutive days, from Saturday to Tuesday, Mumbai saw a continuous downpour of rain. However, on Wednesday there was less amount of rainfall which was a relief for Mumbaikars. Due to the continuous rain for four days, life of commuters was badly affected. Just when Mumbaikars breathed a sigh of relief, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the city might face heavy rain on July 14 and 15.

According to the IMD, on July 14 & 15, heavy rains may occur in nearby districts like Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, including Mumbai. Not only this, the department fears that on these two days, it may rain up to 100 mm. That's why the Meteorological Department has declared a red alert over the weekend.

There will be heavy rains in Mumbai on Saturday and Sunday. In Gujarat and other parts, the storm might also come with rain. For the next two days, such situations have been constantly going on," Mahesh Palavat, Skymet Expert
