Ajinkya family has been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi since 1845. This is their sixth generation who have been celebrating this auspicious festival in a traditional manner at their Dadar residence. Vishwaas Ajinkya, the descendant, proudly narrates the history of his family tradition.

When my great-grandfather was born in 1845, his grandfather started celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. My great-grandfather’s grandfather name was Laxman Harishchandra Ajinkya who was widely known as Bhau Rasul. He was the one who built the famous ‘Bhaucha Dhakka’. He started celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi using age old things and we have been following the same

Vishwaas Ajinkya

This is their sixth generation who have preserved the traditional decoration for many years now. The decoration is 170 years old and this year, their Bappa completed 173 years.
