In its quest to leave behind deepest of sorrows, the year 2020 has taken away another life that touched billions of people. The Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona has passed away, aged 60 due to a cardiac arrest. Maradona recently underwent brain surgery and was said to be recovering well. The news comes as a shock to not just the footballing world, but to the universe that decorated the famous Argie among the greatest sportsmen of all time.

Maradona was the coach of Argentine Primera División club Gimnasia de La Plata, having retired from professional football in the year 1997. He singlehandedly won the World Cup for Argentina in 1986, Mexico and was regarded as a demi-god in the city of Naples for his exploits in the light blue of the Serie-A team, where he won the championship. He was famous for his short stature, fantastic dribbling, breath-taking skills, fiery character and that famous hand of God. Diego Maradona scored a total of 259 goals in his club career in 491 appearances, but his 34 goals in 91 appearances for Argentina was what made him a National Hero. Argentina has announced three days of national mourning in his honor.
