On Saturday, Indian Football Captain Sunil Chhetri has asked the people to come, watch football and support the Indian football team which was followed by similar requests by Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. In response to the heart-melting video which appealed the people for support for Indian football team, the fans made sure their support reached the team and crowded the stadium with their presence.
Former football player, Baichung Bhutia and I.M.Vijayan were also present at the match which was also Sunil Chhetri’s 100th match for India.
Sunil Chhetri along with his wife and team-mates was given the guard of honor by all the Indian football fans who were there at the stands to watch their captain in his 100th match. 33-year old Sunil Chhetri had scored 59 goals in his previous 99 matches and became the second player after Baichung Bhutia to play 100 international matches for the country.
The Indian captain scored two goals in his landmark match where the Indian team defeated Kenya by 3-0 and sealed their spot in the finals of the Intercontinental Cup Tournament.
However, it is necessary for the Indian fans to keep up the spirit and support the Indian football team. After all, any sport sustains on the relation of the team and its fans.
