Mumbai Football Arena refurbishes the ground for ISL play-offs and finals

A new lush grass carpet has been spread out at Mumbai Football Arena which is ready to welcome Mumbai City FC (MCFC) and FC Goa for the Indian Super League (ISL) playoffs. The ISL Season Five playoff game on March 9 will have a brand new surface, in order to provide the teams with the best quality.

Meanwhile, Football Arena will later host a final which will be the first at the venue and the second in the city when it was held at Navi Mumbai's D.Y. Patil stadium in 2014.

According to the ISL officials, the local league matches were stopped in order to avoid further wear and tear at the Football Arena. After which, about three weeks of work went into the re-layering and new grass was sown and trimmed in order to prepare for the ISL matches.

Mumbai City will travel to Nehru stadium, Fatorda, for the second leg playoff against on March 12. The ISL final will be held on March 17.
