Kolhapur outfit FC Kolhapur City struck a late winner to snatch a narrow 1-0 win against Kenkre FC, Mumbai in a Group-C match of the 2nd WIFA Women's Football League 2019-2020, at the Cooperage ground on Monday.
FC Kolhapur City encountered a stiff challenge from Kenkre FC and just about managed to bet the crucial breakthrough in the 88th minute with striker Adika Bhosale scoring the lone goal of the match. This was the second successive win for the visiting Kolhapur team.
Earlier, India Rush Soccer Club, Mumbai seemed to have recovered from the loss to the Kolhapur team as they put up a stronger approach to overcome Future Stars FC, Mumbai by a 5-2 margin.
Striker Christina Michael led India Rush charge to victory with a brace of goals and Archana Bhaladhare, Riya D’Souza and Velanie Fernandes scoring one each to complete the win. Future Stars scored through Vidisha Sawant and Harshika Viskarma.
