Soon, OTC medicines will be available for sale at railway stations

In order to provide ease to the people, ‘Over the Counter’ (OTC) medicines will also be available for sale at railway stations and general stores apart from the medical stores. The purchase of ‘Over the Counter’ medicines doesn’t necessarily require a prescription from the doctors. 

The Central government will bring a new law defining the OTC medicines and will set new guidelines for its sale. 

OTC medicines include Paracetamol Ibuprofen Antacid, Ranitidine, Pantoprazole, Digene, Voveran, Bro Zedex. The central government will decide on the name, dose, potency, labelling, packing, and amount of the OTC medicines.

Moreover, the OTC medicines will be available in Chemist shops, general store, Malls, Airports, Railway Stations, Petrol Pumps, and grocery stores. This will also increase the market for OTC medicines.
