The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) will conduct vaccination in only three hospitals on Monday, May 3. No other vaccination centre will be allowed to inoculate citizens for the citizens above 45, said the civic body.

On May 3, citizens above 45 years of age will be vaccinated at Vashi, Nerul, Airoli Hospitals in the areas under NMMC. However, only a second dose of Covaxin will be available for these citizens. Meanwhile, Covishield will not be available. Also, citizens between the ages of 18 and 44 will not be vaccinated at these centres.

The three hospitals are Turbhe Mata Children's Hospital, 23 Civil Health Centers and ESIS Hospital Jumbo Center.

The municipality has set a target of 10,000 vaccinations per day. On the other hand, as the centre of the private hospital will be closed and the responsibility of vaccination in that hospital lies with the private hospital, the municipality has decided to expand its centre and provide vaccination protection to a maximum number of citizens.

At present, there are a total of 49 vaccination centres in Navi Mumbai, 21 private hospitals and 28 municipal vaccination centres. Therefore, along with increasing the number of booths at each centre in this place, a new centre will be started.
