As per a recently released update, all 12 members of one family have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are being treated for the same. It is said that they belong to Sangli, where the number of cases until yesterday had reached 12, and with this update, the number has increased to 24.

As of March 27, 2020, a total of 135 cases were reported until the morning, and with these 12 being added, the total increases to 147 cases, with 5 deaths in Maharashtra.

Mumbai currently records the highest number of cases in the city, with 51 people, who have tested positive for COVID19. The government officials are trying their best to make necessary arrangements for patients and it is said that the CR has decided to use train coaches to quarantine the patients in Maharashtra. Medical officers, doctors and other staff are working relentlessly to ensure the cases are treated well. On the other hand, looking at the opportunity to improve healthcare, the team at Anand Mahindra owned Mahindra&Mahindra has designed a prototype ventilator which would just cost INR 7,500 and can be used in the current situation of emergency.

CM Uddhav Thackeray recently announced that all the essential services across Maharashtra can be open for 24 hours, and this move is said to reduce crowding, thereby give time for people to buy the necessities as per requirement.

More updates regarding the number of cases are awaited.
