Govt joins the battle against the bulge

Mumbai- Maharashtra’s civic hospitals and medical colleges will set up kiosks to educate people about the dangers of obesity. This was announced by state food and civil supplies minister Girish Bapat, who was speaking during the state wide obesity awareness campaign seminar, organised at J J Hospital. State medical education minister Girish Mahajan inaugurated the obesity awareness campaign organised by the State Department of Medical Education and the J T foundation. This campaign will run for a month. “We want to spread awareness about obesity and want to avoid major illnesses caused by it in future,” said Dr Jayshree Todkar, head, JT Foundation.
