The policies made by the state government to counter the increase in infant mortality rate in the state including Mumbai, are proving to be inadequate. Last year, the infant mortality rate had increased and the situation is not very good this year too. This issue was raised in Nagpur during the Maharashtra Assembly Monsoon Session.

Last year, there was an increase in infant mortality in the state including Mumbai. According to the statistics, 483 infants died within 24 hours of birth this year in Mumbai. The situation of a city like Mumbai is no different and the false claims of hospitalising the high-level system is a matter of concern.
