A liver outpatient department will be opened at St. George's Hospital in the next 15 days, and surgeries will also be performed at the hospital. Therefore, for the first time, a separate facility for liver treatment will be available in state government hospitals. It is estimated that approximately 150 to 200 patients will come for treatment per month in the liver outpatient department to be started at St. George's Hospital.
The government is making efforts to provide liver transplant facilities at the state government's St. George's Hospital. The process of setting up a liver transplant center is in the final stages and the center will be inaugurated soon. However, before that, it is necessary for the hospital to have a liver outpatient department and to perform surgeries for other liver-related diseases.
The 134th anniversary celebration of St. George's Hospital is on December 20. To mark the occasion, the hospital administration has decided to start a liver outpatient department and related surgeries in the hospital. At the liver transplant center being launched at St. George’s Hospital, liver transplant specialist Dr. Ravi Mohanka and gastroenterology specialist Dr. Amit Pradhan from H. N. Reliance Hospital, along with Dr. Gaurav Chaubal and his team from Nanavati Hospital, will be treating patients.
Dr. Ravi Mohanka and Dr. Gaurav Chaubal have taken the initiative and shown their readiness to serve in the hospital. It is under the guidance of this doctor that a liver outpatient department and a surgery department will be started in the hospital. For the first time, a separate liver outpatient department and surgery department are being started in a state government hospital.
The process of starting a liver transplant center is in the final stages. The hospital administration said that the establishment of a liver outpatient and surgical department is likely to speed up the transplant process.
Outpatient department to open two days a week
The outpatient department to be started at St. George's Hospital will be open two days a week, i.e. Tuesday and Friday. In this outpatient department, patients will be treated by expert doctors from across the country.
