Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the newly modernised Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital in Wadala, Mumbai, on Tuesday, April 29. During the event, he urged everyone to work at all levels to promote eye donation and conduct regular eye check-up camps in rural and tribal areas.
He highlighted that while India has become the world’s most populous country, it also has a large number of visually impaired and blind individuals. Many cannot afford treatment due to social and economic reasons. To help such people, he encouraged modern eye hospitals to reach out to underprivileged areas with mobile eye care services and camps.
