Maharashtra reported 3,717 new COVID-19 cases, 3,083 recoveries and 70 deaths on Sunday (December 13), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,80,416. There are 74,104 active cases in the state and 17,57,005 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 48,209 in Maharashtra.
The states recovery rate is 93.44 per cent, while the mortality rate is 2.56 per cent. Currently, 4,403 people are institutional quarantine and 5,12,587 are home quarantine.
Mumbai reported 606 new COVID-19 cases, 402 recoveries and 12 deaths on Sunday (December 13), taking the total number of cases in the financial capital to 2,90,629. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, there are 12,654 active cases and 2,66,162 patients have completely recovered so far. The death toll is at 10,981 in the city. The recovery rate stands at 92 per cent. At present 20,91,138 tests have been conducted by the BMC. There are 439 contaminated zones in slums and chawls while 4,925 buildings are sealed by the BMC.
Meanwhile, India reported 27,071 new COVID-19 cases, 30,695 recoveries and 336 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 98,84,100 according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday (December 13). While in total 93,88,159 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,43,355 in the country. At present, there are 3,52,586 active cases. According to the ICMR, 15,45,66,990 samples have been tested up to December 13.
