Maharashtra: State Govt forms Covid task force to tackle increasing cases

In order to control the increased number of patients during the first wave of Corona, a special task force of expert doctors was formed in the state as per the government decision of April 13, 2020. Corona patients are once again increasing in the state.

Former Chief of ICMR, Delhi Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar will head the task force. Also Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Lieutenant General Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar, Director of Directorate of Medical Education and Research Dr. Suresh Karkarte, Navale Medical College’s Varsha Potdar, Dr. D. B. Kadam are members. The Commissioner, Health Services will be the Member Secretary.

The responsibilities of the task force will be to prepare patient management guidelines for seriously and critically ill corona patients, recommend the need for specialist doctors and health care support staff in corona critical care hospitals, and provide treatment guidelines to maintain uniformity while treating seriously ill corona patients, said Health Minister Dr Sawant.
