Pune's COVID-19 cases tally crosses 2-lakh mark

Pune reported 766 new COVID-19 cases, 391 recoveries and four deaths on Thursday, February 25, taking the total number of cases up to 2,00,462. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), there are 3,930 active cases while 1,91,691 patients have recovered so far. The death toll in Pune is 4,841.

 As many as 6,556 tests were conducted taking the total count to 11,21,224.

On Thursday, February 25, Maharashtra recorded 8,702 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 21,29,821. Currently, there are 64,260 active cases in the state. With 3,744 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 20,12,367.

More than 56 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,993. While 2,05,745 persons are under home quarantine, 2,521 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.49 per cent, and 2.44 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 16,577 new cases, 12,179 recoveries and 120 deaths taking the tally up to 1,10,63,491 on Thursday, February 25. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,07,50,680 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,56,825 in the country. At present, there are 1,55,986 active cases. So far, 1,34,72,643 healthcare and frontline workers have been vaccinated in the country.
