Pune records 193 new COVID-19 cases; two deaths on February 15

Pune reported 193 new COVID-19 cases, 169 recoveries and two deaths on Monday, February 15, taking the total number of cases up to 1,95,187. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), there are 1,683 active cases while 1,88,703 patients have recovered so far. The death toll in Pune is at 4,801.

As many as 2,376 tests were conducted taking the total count to 10,74,191.

On Monday, February 15, Maharashtra recorded 3,365 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,67,643. Currently, there are 36,201 active cases in the state. With 3,105 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,78,708.

More than 23 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,325. While 1,74,704 persons are under home quarantine, 1,714 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.7 per cent, and 2.49 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 9,121 new cases, 11,805 recoveries and 81 deaths taking the tally up to 1,09,25,710 on Monday, February 15. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,06,33,025 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,55,813 in the country. At present, there are 1,36,872 active cases. According to the ICMR, 20,73,32,298 samples have been tested up to February 15. So far, 87,20,822 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
