108 ambulance service in fix at Central Railway stations

The rate of accidents on railway tracks and platforms has increased. If the ambulances are available on time lives of people can be saved. 108 free ambulance on call services is unavailable at many stations in western and central railways.

Mumbai Live team did a reality check to know about the service at the stations. On the Western Railway, every station has the free ambulance available at their helm. The only station which does not have the emergency ambulance available is Ram Mandir station. Whereas in Central Railway there are many stations which don’t have emergency services.

Several times due to delay in the shifting process, the commuter even loses its life. If a commuter meets with the accident at Ram Mandir station the ambulance stationed at Goregaon station will come to carry the patient to the hospital which takes the load of time. This whole process can prove costly for the commuter. Action must be taken by the railways to ensure the safety of the commuters.
