World Spine Day - 40% people ignore spine related diseases

On the account of world spine day, Mumbai's Q I Spine Clinic did a survey and they came to startling figures. In India, 20% people who fall in 16 to 34 age group suffer from spine and neck related problem. In Mumbai, 18% youngsters are suffering from spine problem alone. Meanwhile, there are 40% people who ignore their problem and don’t consult a doctor.

According to Q I Spine Clinic report,

- Q I Spine Clinic did a survey on 20,000 patients in the year 2016-17

- People who suffer from spine problem hail from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune

- In Delhi, 25% youngsters suffer from spine related diseases

People should consult doctor in time so that the problem doesn’t escalate and surgery can be avoided,” Dr Garima Anandani, Clinical Director.

23% consult a doctor while 73% do household treatment and 62% go for other types of treatment.

There is lack of awareness when it comes to spine related diseases. People should come ahead and should not ignore symptoms,” Anuj Arenja, MD & CEO, Q I Spine Clinic.
