BMC amends DCR by allowing covered parking towers in the city

In a recently taken decision, officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have given permission to cover the parking towers in Mumbai. The report regarding the same was published by Mumbai Mirror which stated that the announcement regarding the same was given by the Chief Engineer of civic body's development plan tram, Vinod Chitore.

This decision was taken under the Development Control Regulations (DCR) and is said to prevent damaging the mechanical and electrical parts of the vehicles. Experts have recommended the same keeping the city's congestion in mind, and have stated that it is important for Mumbai. Furthermore, several constructions in the city offer remote-controlled parking and parts of the vehicle were getting damaged due to the monsoon and weather conditions, but covered parking towers could become the solution to these problems. 

Builders across the city have welcomed the decision and appreciated that the amendment in the DCR, and stated that this is a rising demand from the car owners and home buyers, as it helps in avoiding damages to the car parts and related wear and tear, eventually reducing the accidents and malfunctions. 

Having said that, they have pointed out that the same would be needed in the RERA Act as well, only after which they could sell the same.
