CIDCO housing scheme receives 1.5 lakh registrations

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) had asked applications for more than 14 thousand houses in Navi Mumbai’s Ghansoli, Dronagiri, Kalamboli, Taloja, and Kharghar area. It was expected that the housing scheme will receive a tremendous response after, in almost five days, 10,000 people filed an application for CIDCO houses.

Likewise, until now, there have been more than 1.5 lakh applications for the 14,838 houses. Priya Ratambe, CIDCO Public Relation Officer told Mumbai Live that till now, 1.29 lakh people have filled the application forms and more than 79,000 applicants have submitted the application form with the deposit money. As five more days are left for the interested people to apply, CIDCO officials are expecting more than 1.5 lakh applicants in total.

The applications for the residences at Ghansoli, Kalamboli, Dronagiri, Kharghar and Taloja are being accepted by CIDCO currently for the Lower Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The applications will be allotted houses through a lottery. Since the houses are under the banner of Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY), they have received a positive response.

Alongside, CIDCO offers the lottery winners from EWS with a grant of ₹2.5 lakh and a housing loan of ₹2.5 lakh for lottery winners from LIG. Earlier, CIDCO had decided to make the lottery registration procedure easy by launching an app.
