Lalbaug- Even though BMC got the layout of the Lalbaug flyover which consisted of low quality materials still they approved the Simplex Company and gave them the contract. In 2010, part of this flyover had fallen on three cars in which one man also got injured. Despite this incident, in 2011, this flyover was inaugurated and after hours of inauguration, huge pothole was seen on it. Concerned company was fined of mere Rs. 5 lakhs. BMC engineer is saying that there is a need of repair work, while MMRDA is alleging that BMC is responsible for the same. This statement was given out by Dilip Kawatkar, PRO of MMRDA.
