MHADA misses May 31 deadline, will announce lottery in August

Since 2007, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has been announcing lottery on May 31, however, since last year, they have been missing the deadline which they have continued this year as well.

Hence, Mumbaikars will have to wait to buy affordable homes at least for a month as the MHADA is planning to announce the lottery in the month of August and will publish the advertisements of the same in the month of June-July.

Though MHADA Mumbai Repair Board and Reconstruction Board has delayed the announcement, they have kept the advertisements ready for the same. Likewise, MHADA will publish the advertisement of 1000 affordable houses available in the last week of June or first week of July, confirmed Deependra Singh Kushwah, chief officer, MHADA.

Six months ago, MHADA had announced that they would announce the lottery on May 31 but failed to do so.
