Mumbai Metro-6 Work for Lokhandwala-Kanjurmarg kick starts

Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) is all set to begin the construction of Metro-6 i.e. Lokhandwala-Jogeshwari-Kanjur Marg, and tenders have been invited by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the same. The DMRC has received rights of constructing the metro from MMRDA.  

Work in progress

After the Versova-Ghatkopar, Metro-1, construction of Metro-3 on Colaba-Bandra-Seepz route is in full progress. Along with this, MMRDA is planning to begin the construction of Metro-7 on Dahisar-Andheri route and Metro-2A following with Metro 2B and Metro-4 on Wadala-Ghatkopar-Thane-Kasarwadavli route.

DMRC will take the responsibility

MMRDA has handed over the responsibility of constructing a 14.47-metre long metro route to DMRC. After getting a green signal for the same from the State Government, DMRC initiated by making a design for Metro-6 and tenders are also being invited.

These are the 13 stations

Swami Samarth Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, JVLR, Shyam Nagar, Mahakali Caves, Seepz Village, Saki Vihar Road, Ram Baug, Powai Lake, IIT Powai, Kanjurmarg and Vikhroli Eastern Express Highway.
