Mumbai – Welcoming the Central government’s decision regarding charging MRPs for bottled water at multiplexes, malls and airports, Mumbai Grahak Panchayat’s executive president Adv. Shirish Deshpande expressed confidence that this would stop the exploitation of consumers.
After receiving complaints regarding bottled water being sold at higher prices than its MRP at malls, multiplexes, hotels, airports etc, the Central government on Monday announced that the concerned should charge only the MRP while selling these bottles. Consumers’ forums across the country had registered their complaints in this regard. Adv Deshpande also demanded the same decision for other beverages and food items.
