State gets Indu Mills from centre for Ambedkar memorial

The possession of land at Indu Mills regarding the construction of the giant bronze statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was transferred to State Government by the Central Government. The decision was taken in the meeting presided by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Smriti Irani, Minister of Textiles and Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice.

Ramdas Athawale was very jubilant and welcomed the decision. Athawale stating "I am very happy. We fought for 15 years for the possession. A major decision has been taken considering Rs 3, 600 crore land. The statue will be completed in two years."
