Mumbai - Mumbai Housing and Development Authority (MHADA) published global tenders for the redevelopment of BDD Chawls. Developers like Larsen & Toubro and Shapoorji-Pallonji Group turned up for the redevelopment of BDD chawls in Naigaon (Dadar East) and N M Joshi Marg. Post demonetisation, there is a slump in the market, hence very few developers have the courage to take up such massive project.
Earlier, the state government had invited bids for three sectors in Dharavi for redevelopment. Now it is planning to invite bids once again. On 24 March either of the two will be appointed for the redevelopment project.
