Shivaji Park - Vasant Desai, Indian film music composer, best remembered for his score for films like 'Do Aankhen Barah Haath', 'Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje', 'Goonj Uthi Shehnai', 'Sampoorna Ramayan', 'Guddi' and 'Aashirwaad', was honoured once again on the eve of his 41st death anniversary with a musical programme at Shivaji Park, Dadar.
The programme, organised by Yuva Kala Manch, run by Desai's disciple Somnath Parab, was held on Wednesday morning, and had over 500 students from Balmohan Vidyamandir and the Sane Guruji school paying musical tributes to the dynamic composer. Desai is also fondly remembered for his compositions in Marathi plays like 'Sant Dnyaneshwar', 'Jai Jai Gauri Shankar' and 'Preeti Sangam'.
