Mumbai - Bhumipujan of the Shivaji Memorial in the Arabian Sea is scheduled on 24 December. Around 18 crores will be spent in the publicity of the memorial. Bhumipujan of the memorial has become a major trump card for the upcoming BMC elections. 5,000 hoardings have been put up in regard with this. Congress Speaker Sachin sawant has raised questions against this over the top promotion of the bhumipujan programme of the memorial. Sachin said," Electricity of Jijau memorial has been cut down and on other hand they are expending 18 crores on mere publicity."
