The assembly elections in Maharashtra are scheduled to happen on October 21 while the results for the same will be declared on October 24. The candidates from various political parties and at independent capacity filed their nomination on October 4.
Moreover, 37 candidates withdrew their nomination on October 7 which was the last day to do the same. Of the 36 assembly seats in Mumbai, 89 candidates are contesting on 10 seats in the city while 244 candidates will contest on 26 suburban assembly seats.
Mumbai District Collector Shivaji Jondhale informed that at least 11 candidates are contesting on Dharavi and Sion Koliwada assembly seats while six candidates will face off on Wadala seat, four candidates from Mahim and 13 from Worli.
Moreover, four candidates will contest the assembly polls from Sewri followed by 11 candidates from Byculla, 10 from Malabar Hills, 12 from Mumbaidevi and eight candidates from Colaba seat.
