Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday condemned the “violence committed” by Shiv Sena corporators in Mayor Dimple Mehta’s office in Mira-Bhayandar while calling Sena a “party of goons”.

In a statement, AAP expressed concerned over the law and order situation in rest of Maharashtra while stating that Shiv Sena’s office bearers participated in the vandalism and claimed ‘credit’ for their accomplishment.

There is no place for violence in a constitutional democracy. Shiv Sena is a party of goons, as is exemplified by this attack. It is being alleged that the police were mute spectators. Such an attack, couldn't have been orchestrated without the connivance and collusion of the local police,” AAP alleged.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is currently carrying out his election campaign – Mahajanadesh Yatra. Taking a dig at CM Fadnavis, AAP said that rather than being busy with his yatra, he should prioritise on the real issue of governance.
