Mumbai - The Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Anil Desai has lodged a complaint against the Bharatiya Janata Party with the State Election Commission.

Desai has alleged that the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been used in one of the BJP’s advertisements for the forthcoming BMC elections. The EC has ruled that no photograph of national heroes can be used for purposes of political campaigning. This is a breach of the code of conduct, said Desai in his complaint. He has also demanded action against the BJP for using the Maharaj's name out of context.
