The founder of Bhim Army, Chandrashekhar Azad has recently arrived in Mumbai with the aim to conduct rallies across Maharashtra from December 29 to January 4. As a part of this, he was supposed to hold a rally at Mumbai's Jambori Maidan on Saturday. However, the police had refused to permit the rally due to security reasons and now, they have kept him under house arrest.
The leader has been kept under house arrest at Malad's Hotel Manali, where he is being monitored by more than 1000 policemen. Due to which, the place currently seems more like a police camp than a hotel.
After arriving in Mumbai, Azad had decided to address a press conference on December 28, Friday. However, the leader was kept under house arrest due to which, the press conference could not be held. This has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Bhim Army party workers who have marched towards Manali hotel.
In response, Bhim Army Maharashtra President, Ashok Kamble told Mumbai Live,
Four months ago, Azad was released from jail and instantly after that, he began rallying across the country with the slogan 'BJP Hatao, Samvidhaan Bachao' (Remove BJP and save our constitution). Similar to that, he had arrived in Mumbai and was preparing for a rally at three other places than Mumbai, Pune-Bhima Koregaon, Latur, and Amravati.
However, now that the police have kept Azad under house arrest, the future of Azad and Bhim Army's rally remains in question.
