Mumbai BJP has launched a new platform called ‘Aawaz Mumbaikarancha’ (Voice of Mumbaikars), allowing citizens to share their issues, demands, and expectations from their elected representatives. This initiative is part of the party's campaign for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, as per the report by The Free Press Journal (FPJ).

The platform was officially launched on Tuesday at a mega BJP convention held at the NSCI Dome in Worli. The event was attended by several senior BJP leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mumbai BJP President Amit Satam, State BJP President Ravindra Chavan, Mumbai Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Ashish Shelar, and others.

Mumbai BJP President Amit Satam said, “Our party workers will go door-to-door to collect people's demands so we can include them in the election manifesto. Our goal is to make Mumbai a safe city and to stop illegal immigration.”

He added, “Under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis, Mumbai has seen major infrastructure developments like the Coastal Road, Atal Setu, and the Metro. CCTV surveillance has also been increased. Safety, security, and infrastructure are our top priorities for the city.”

Elections are due not only in Mumbai's BMC but also in 29 municipal corporations across Maharashtra. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court gave the Maharashtra State Election Commission time until January 31, 2026 to conduct these elections, granting a four-month extension for preparations.

As in the last BMC election held in February 2017, there will still be 227 electoral wards in Mumbai. The process of redrawing ward boundaries is ongoing in nine phases. The BMC is expected to publish the final ward boundaries between October 3 and 6, 2025.
