CST - The small political parties have come together to form a Left Combine for the BMC polls. The alliance was announced in the office of CPI at Azad Maidan on Monday. This alliance includes the Communist Party of India, CPI-M, Lal Nishan, Lal Nishan (Leninist), Bharip, Socialist Unity Centre and Peasants and Workers Party (PWP). Senior CPI leader Prakash Reddy announced the formation of this alliance which has declared its candidates on 127 seats for the BMC polls. The candidates on remaining seats will be announced shortly and women candidates will be given priority in this list, Reddy informed. He also said that various issues such as corruption in the BMC, privatization of education, etc. would be raised during the campaigning.
