Claimants of highest and lowest margin

Mumbai – BJP candidate Pravin Shah emerged as the candidate who won with the highest margin of votes in the BMC election. Shah secured his win by a margin of 19,000 voters. Another BJP candidate, Atul Shah won in a tie as he was declared winner after taking out a lottery.

Shiv Sena candidate Shraddha Jadhav became the candidate winning with the second largest margin of 6000 votes. Sena candidate Trushna Vishwasrao who was the group leader in the BMC faced defeat by 16 votes. The other candidates who was defeated with a very narrow margin include Kamla Raj Purohit (17 votes), Santosh Kelkar (40 votes), Krishna Parkar (34 votes) and Jaisal Kothari (84 votes).
