Workers of BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Jitendra Awhad clashed with each other inside the Vidhan Bhavan on Thursday, July 17.
A fierce fight broke out between the two groups. As soon as the video of the fight went viral, there were many reactions from political circles as well. Now, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has released a video mocking the chaos in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
In a video posted on social media, a video of the fight has been linked to the song 'Hum Honge Kamaib'. He has captioned this video as 'Lawbreakers'.
The song used in the video is from one of Kamra's shows. In the same video, Kamra had called Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde a traitor. After that video, Kamra faced strong reactions from the workers of the Shiv Sena's youth wing, Yuva Sena.
Chaos outside Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha
On Thursday, a fierce clash broke out between the workers of BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Jitendra Awhad near the entrance of Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan.
They also tore each other's clothes. This was the first time such an incident had taken place in the Vidhan Bhavan area, and Kamra once again reacted to the political situation in Maharashtra in his comedic style. Meanwhile, after the scuffle, Awhad also alleged that he was threatened and abused during the scuffle.
"The entire Maharashtra knows who the attacker was. We are being asked for evidence repeatedly. However, the entire country has seen who carried out the attack. Goons are allowed into the Assembly. This has created a threat to the safety of the MLAs. I was abused, threatened with death. Abusive words like dog and pig were used. "Was this expected to happen in the Legislative Assembly?" Awhad said while speaking to reporters.
BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar called the incident unfortunate and apologised. "I am truly saddened by what happened here. I express my regret and apologise," he said.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, while criticising the Mahayuti government, said, "If goons are reaching the Assembly, then the state's Home Minister and Chief Minister should take responsibility for it. This is very unfortunate. Such behavior is not appropriate in the Assembly."
Congress MLA Nana Patole also condemned the incident of violence and called for immediate action.
