Ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, Senior Congress leader Harshvardhan Patil on Wednesday joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This move comes days after Patil expressed his disappointment against Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) decision to not leave Pune’s Indapur assembly seat.

Patil had earlier said that during Lok Sabha elections, in the presence of Rahul Gandhi, the NCP had decided to leave the Hindupur assembly constituency.

While speaking to the media, CM Fadnavis said that there are other leaders from the opposition parties who will join BJP in the coming days.
