Congress to form 40,000 Gram Committees in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat has announced that Congress launched its initiative - ‘Gaav Tithe Congress’ which will go on for the coming three months. 

Congress will implement the ‘Gaav Tithe Congress’ in Maharashtra and under this initiative, around 40,000 Gram Congress committee. 

Senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat said that this is being done to expand the party’s roots at ground level in Maharashtra. 

‘Gaav Tithe Congress’ will be implemented in Maharashtra to expand and strengthen the party at ground level. This initiative will go on for the next three months and under this initiative, 40,000 Gram Congress Committees will be formed,” Maharashtra Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat said. 

On Tuesday, Thorat chaired a meeting with several organisations which included Presidents from urban and rural district-level committees. 

Congress’ women wing along with National Student Union of India (NSUI) and Seva Dal also participated in meeting at Tilak Bhavan in Dadar.

Thorat informed that the initiative has been initiated to strengthen Congress’ base at ground level. Moreover, the booth level congress committees will be reconstituted.
