Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has been in the news, over the last few days. Owing to the condition, Parrikar was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital, with reports of being diagnosed with food poisoning. Statement from his office further said that he was in the city for a routine check-up.
However, a credible source from the hospital (who wishes to be anonymous) has mentioned that Goa CM Manohar Parrikar is undergoing treatment for Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer, and he is under observation. Dr P. Jagganath is currently providing medical assistance to the CM. The pancreatic ailment is being offered at Lilavati hospital in Mumbai. However, no official statement has been received from the hospital yet.
Further, as per a statement released by Narendra Sawaikar, MP, South Goa, states, "On the advice of his doctors, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will be continuing with the treatment for Pancreas in Mumbai. CM’s treatment is in the right direction and that he is responding to the same. However, he needs sufficient time to recover and be focused on the treatment. Expert doctors are taking good care of him. We all pray for his speedy recovery."
Before arriving in Mumbai, Parrikar was earlier treated at the government-run Goa Medical College when he complaining of stomach pain. But later, was rushed to Lilavati hospital.
No further information regarding his discharge or return to Goa has been announced yet.
