The Kamala Mills fire incident which took place at Mojo’s Bistro was due to the hookah, cleared the fire audit report. Prior to this report, leaders of opposition parties raised concerns associated with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's commissioner Ajoy Mehta for lackadaisical attitude towards Kamala Mills illegal pubs.
Mehta in his defence then revealed that he wanted to take action but he was being pressurised by some political leader for not doing so.
His statement garnered all political leaders attention, in which officials Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) demanded that either Mehta should reveal the name of the concerned or should go for narco test. MNS corporator Sandeep Deshpande tweeted the same on Twitter.
Through his tweet, Deshpande said that Mehta should reveal details about the politico who were stopping him from taking actions. Is he from the ruling party or some ‘Bhaiyya’ from opposition party? Questioned Deshpande. He added that Mehta has always spoken about transparency, and it is time he acts on his words.
