With 2019 Maharashtra assembly election results to be declared on October 24, senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Jayant Patil has claimed that his party will be leading and will remain on either first or second rank during the counting.

Contradictory to the claim made by Patil, most of the exit polls across TV channels and newspapers have predicted 200 or more seats for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra.

Reacting to this, Patil said that the exit polls predictions are manipulated to brainwash the mind of the voters. Exit polls are one-sided and only favouring the ruling parties, the senior NCP leader added.

...not only this but even the Election Commission is also working as per the government. The doubts which people have should be cleared by the EC,” said Jayant Patil.

During the election campaign, the poll rallies carried out by NCP chief Sharad Pawar received a good response from the people.
